The Vivekin Intelligences Framework (VIF™)

Following years of our research at some of the world’s best business schools—Wharton, Purdue & University of Minnesota—Vivékin developed an intelligences framework that guides an organization in developing flexibilities along five different dimensions and in designing context-appropriate dynamic strategies. The VIF™ encompasses both a people aspect and an organizational aspect: Leadership Intelligences™ and Organizational Intelligences™. The methodologies we invoke—from evolutionary economics and ethnography, to psychology and operations management—provide a holistic, culturally-sustained, and robust approach which enables our client organizations to develop the dynamic capabilities needed to sustain competitive advantage in the face of rapid change.

Leadership Intelligences™ (LI™)
Leadership Intelligences™ focuses on developing adaptive capacity in people to make them leaders.
A pilot on a delayed flight steps into the cabin, assuages irate passengers, and ensures customer loyalty. A barista steps out from behind the counter, resolves an argument over spilled coffee, and establishes her coffee-chain as providing “delightful service”. An operations manager re-routes workflow, removes a bottle-neck, and the company delivers a critical order in time.
LI™ allows people to use their 5 intelligences to lead in “unremarkable ways” in everyday situations to produce outstanding results. It inspires a culture of leadership and constant innovation that delivers dramatic results in growth, agility and resilience.

Organizational Intelligences™ (OI™)
Organizational Intelligences™ examines organizational structure, processes, and infrastructure technologies to maximize flexibilities and build in strategic agility. In fast-moving turbulent environments, only those companies that can rapidly change strategy according to context can be industry leaders. OI™ measures and helps enhance flexibilities along the five dimensions of the VIF™, focusing on aspects such as organizational structures, reporting hierarchies, business process design, manufacturing and supply chain flexibilities and infrastructure technologies. OI™ enables an organization to compete in new markets, work with rapidly changing technologies and, in short, develop the strategic agility and resilience to sustain leadership positions in its industry.
